Historical Marker Unveiling – April 18, 2026
Descendants of the family of Willie McDaniel unveiled a historical marker on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at Remembrance Plaza near the Reedy Creek Nature Center. The Remembrance Project Steering Committee is grateful to Mecklenburg County Government and Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation for their partnership in memorializing Mr. McDaniel.
